Ken told us that ART is a part of education and for me ART IS THE BEST EDUCATION!

Nowadays many schools only concentrate on Science or Social subjects and this is absolutely kill creativity part or skills of the students. who said art can't teach us anything and doesn't has any prospect in the future?? Even some people always thought that art just the subjects that is not important and being a reason for F student on science subjects to continuing his education lives and free from all that calculative things.. but the truth is art NOT that kind of knowledge!

let's go back to the past when we are still a toddler, what did attracted us when we see something for the first time? the answer is color. Color is the main part of art and can't be separated from it. And then what we always do when we studying in kindergarten? you know it is drawing right? 

in the kindergarten, children learn something through arts like singing,
drawing and dancing. 

we never realized that we already learn about art since we don't know anythings, that's why art is part of knowledge, part of learning something, also part of education..

Last, don't forget even you like art it doesn't meant you are stupid. We are art student smart in our way and it called Creative!

honestly, i don't know what this object is.. but looking at this unknown things make me wondering what this object can do. So i think it will be like this..

TITANIC: Something we know and we don't know...

When we heard Titanic we will flash back to 1997-1990 when all that unforgettable romantic scenes in the best movie directed by James Cameron come to our mind. But did you know history behind Titanic?

RMS Titanic  was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City, US. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,502 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in modern history.

The question now is "Why did the Titanic hit the iceberg?"

Some facts said there were 6 ice warnings received by Titanic on the day of the collision. They were all ignored by the wireless operator who was preoccupied with transmitting passenger messages. So when this facts burst around the worlds all people said that this tragedy was Edward Smith (the Captain of Titanic at that time) fault. At that time the Titanic was traveling 22.5 knots while cruising through iceberg laden waters,  just 5 knot from her maximum speed capability.

SOLUTIONS BEHIND RANDOM WORDS

RANDOM  WORDS..
This technique provides a means of producing blind variation of ideas through the use of random words to produce a rich variety of unpredictable ideas.

Juxtaposition and Random Words was a different technique but seems similar.

So, for Random words examples like these:

  So, these are my solutions:

1. Dirty -----> cigarettes can make your mouth and teeth smells and colored like a shit..

hmmm.... wanna smell like this in front of girls/boys?

 2. Metal ------> If you smoking cigarettes, maybe you can die as soon as you do that.
                          Because that cigarettes has sharps and tiny metal inside.

yes, you make your life like an EPIC short stories -___-

3. Colors -----> This is the most simple idea, only put Green, Yellow, and Red        
                           at the cigarettes just to remind the smokers what will
                           happen to them next.....

you already meet your.. Mama??

COMBINE IT AND MAKE A DIFFERENT THINGS!

Talking about combination, fusion or anything else related with two different ideas and concepts reminds me to many great innovation. This concept really helpful and become a great solution for the better life. But how to know the ideas really work or not? Let me give you the example what we called “Juxtaposition”

I have 9 words and I will try to combine it based on the number that I choose!

I will choose 16, 10, 94 and then I will combined it, make a sentences based on that word and make the illustration…

That’s the examples of juxtaposition concept.

Another example of juxtaposition is analogy concepts like this:

Love: "Love is like a chili, even some people hate it
they will addicted to it when they try to taste it"

But sometimes not all different ideas will work out together as we want, just imagine if Body Shop that want to save nature combine with Shell that can destroy nature. It will not work right???

And the last is, I will try to combined something that will dangerous for us and only make a chaos to our life (this is a bad example to combined something and will not work or useful for anyone)

That is dangerous right? Why not try to make it like this?

WHY THIS MORTAR AND PESTLE DIFFERENT?!

Do you know what is mortar?  How about a pestle?

if you don't know what they are just look at this picture:

when peoples know what is mortar and pestle they must be know what it is used to be (to smash something and make it smooth, usually they use it for cooking ingredients)

but you know, maybe in the past or in the future this mortar and pestle can be something else maybe like this..

Microphone and Speaker in the future maybe,

Or maybe they use it for hair curler in the past??

how about use it as a weapon? like BOMB!!

MIND MAP --> THE BEST WAY TO BE CREATIVE AND SMART

Are you still doing this to make note??

Why you not try to make a different way to make something important like note become more interesting and not boring like that??

Mind map is the best way for someone that easily bored to read their notes and feel stress as soon as they look at it. With mind map they can remember what they got easily, they also can do some stuff to make it more interesting like put a hand-drawing and make it more colorful like this..

Mind map can stimulate our brain to remember something based on what color we see and what  information and point we get at that time. Mind map also make our brain work more balanced because we used both side of brain, left and right side.

NOT ALL INVENTIONS BRING INNOVATIONS

Who said all invention brought benefits and can be useful very well by all the peoples?

Before all innovation and invention Japan has made, many failure already happen and only created something unnecessary.

In a new exhibition in Tokyo there is a lot of invention which only became the futures that never happened. Because the entire devices really unnecessary to made, only be used for several thing and not efficient. For the example like Snack-3 (a device that can be used to warm a milk, toaster and frying an egg), this device actually a good idea but only for someone who like western breakfast every day.

Even the devices all worked and being something new and bring something new to citizen, not all people want to spend their money only to bought all that things.

So to make a good invention we must think to make the device really useful and can be improved in the future. Not only useful only for several thing for several people.

THE HISTORY OF EGYPTIANS CREATIVITY

Every single thing in this world has their history. Even creativity, something abstracts that cannot be explained has history. Let see the example what I was talking about, look at this picture:

What can you conclude from this picture?

Even you are not realized it, all the people in this picture already make something creative to find the solution of their problem.

In the past Egyptians have to make pyramids for their King Pharaoh, It will be used as a tomb for the King family. In the first time, they didn’t have any problem to make it. But, after the pyramids become bigger and taller the workers have difficult to make the pyramids. That’s why the workers try to find the solution to make them easier to reach the top of the pyramid so they will finish it as the deadline. But in case to build the pyramid they use the same technique using shadoof. Shadoof was commonly used to move water. A shadoof is a long pole, weighted at one end, perhaps with a stone, and a vessel on the other end, used for raising water to irrigate the land. They pulled down the vessel, filled it under the water, and then easily lifted it by the counter weight.

These water lifting machines showed that the Egyptians knew something about weight, fulcrum, adn balance long before they built the pyramids. Their ability to see or sensitive to the problem, flexibility of thinking, redefinition (gives up old interpretations of familiar objects and uses them in new ways) show that they already being creative in this era.

The problems to build all the pyramids make them become more creative and make another invention and innovation to finish it.

All the process Egyptians do when they build the pyramid are the process of creativity. 

Inspiration, in which they are generate a large number of ideas. Means that they got the ideas from anywhere and inspired by what they saw before. 

Clarification, in which they are focus on their goals/missions. All the worker try to finish the pyramid as soon as possible, that’s why they try to find the solution how can they done the pyramid as fast as they can. 

Evaluation, in which they are review all what they do and look back over their work in progress.  The workers have the difficulty to continue build the pyramid so they evaluated their work and try to find the solution to make it easier.

Distillation, in which they decide which ideas to work on. They already try all the solution and in the end they find the best ideas (the shadoof device).

5 WORDS ASSOCIATED WITH CREATIVITY

Some people said that being creative is a crime because you are look ridiculous with what are you thinking. Being creative is not a crime you know? We just have to show our greatest talent inside our mind and show it to other peoples around us ^^

Do you know what is creativity or creative is? Before being creative there lot of process before you got what we call creativity. For example I have 5 words that associated with creativity

IDEA

How can you make something without idea? How can you solve big problem without solution that came from idea? Idea is the best thing that your brain gave to you. Idea come from anywhere and can come anytime even if you don’t want it at that time. So getting the idea is the first step for being creative.

INSPIRATION

When we find and see something coincidence and make us thinking about it more and more, day by day, we can call it if that thing already inspiring us and we already inspired by it. We can get inspiration from everything, even it from people words like quotes or what people told or teach to us.

3.   IMAGINATION

Imagination is a process when you imagine something and make it interesting with your own style. I think imagination is the best part of being creative, we can do anything even it is only a fantasy of our mind. But you know if our imagination can lead us to the greatest creativity of our idea.

                                                   INNOVATION

Ever you heard this words “This kind of stuff was boring” ?? we can usually hear that when we saw something same like the other things. Just a normal and a common stuff that will not attracting peoples to have it. That’s why innovation was very important to make everything looks interesting. Besides that, innovation was needed to make something better and useful than before.

DESIGN

After all the process we already have, design is the next step to make all our creativity real. Just with your ultimate weapons like drawing pen, pencil, sketchbook you can create the new invention through your design. That’s why design becomes the most related thing to creativity.

THE ENVIRONMENT TO BECOME CREATIVE

Sometimes when we wondering about something maybe like how this universe created, we will think how to make something like that even it is impossible for us to make it. But, that’s what we call idea. From something impossible to be innovative things, that’s all come from our environment or situation we face at that time. 

So what kind of situation that make us creative?

We can be innovative and creative person when we face some problem and we want to find the solution of this problem. For example like black box flight recorder. Black box was made by Dave Warren in 1953 and become the greatest invention at that time. Warren got the idea to made a black box because he was motivated by his family tragedy when his father was killed in one of Australia’s earliest air disaster in 1934 and want to know the causes of this accident.

Or when we see something that too ordinary or simple we will think to make or create something more interesting, modern, and extraordinary. But not only that, sometimes when we face a coincidence thing we will get an idea to create something based on that.

THE PROCESS OF INVENTION AND INNOVATION FROM PC TO TABLET

Well first, rise your hand if you don’t know what is tablet.. Of course many people know what tablet is. Nowadays tablet was really popular and everybody use it and bring it anywhere. Peoples choose tablets because tablets is more handy (easy to carry anywhere), modern, cheaper than PC, flexible and fun.

Back to 15 years ago, PC and laptop computer we used at work was so expensive and powerful than anything. But now technology already changed and people always need internet everyday, that why to make it more easier to access internet without bring laptop computer inventor made smartphone and tablet.

Many companies in technology believe that tablets will have replaced computers in most  companies and make more of us will become mobile workers as a result
